Welcome to Mamak Corner

General Info

If you’re exploring Malaysian food in Adelaide, Mamak Corner is one of those places that instantly feels lively and welcoming. Tucked right on Bank Street, the location is easy to find, and the vibe leans casual yet energetic-perfect for both locals and tourists looking for something flavorful and comforting.

Walking in, the first thing you notice is the aroma coming straight from the kitchen. The menu is packed with familiar Malaysian classics, but a few dishes clearly stand out. The Nasi Lemak with Fried Chicken is a must-try. The rice is fragrant and coconut-rich, paired with crispy chicken that delivers a satisfying crunch. Then there’s the Original Roti Canai-soft, flaky, and served warm. It’s simple, but done so well that it becomes addictive after the first bite.

For drinks, Teh Tarik is the obvious choice. It’s smooth, slightly sweet, and has that signature frothy top that makes it feel like more than just a cup of tea. If you’re leaning toward noodles, the Char Kwey Teow brings a smoky, savory punch, while the Maggi Goreng Chicken offers a comforting, slightly spicy twist that hits all the right notes.

What makes this spot even more appealing is how accessible and flexible it is. Onsite services run smoothly, and the wheelchair accessible parking lot makes it easy for everyone to visit. The restaurant also caters well to different preferences, with vegetarian options available alongside its richer, meat-based dishes. And if you’ve got a sweet tooth, the dessert selection rounds out the meal nicely without feeling over the top.

From what I’ve seen and experienced, the reviews tend to reflect a consistent theme-people come for the food but stay for the atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where you can drop by for a quick bite or settle in for a longer meal with friends. The balance between authenticity and approachability is what keeps people coming back.

Overall, Mamak Corner feels like a genuine slice of Malaysian street dining right in Adelaide, with a menu that delivers bold flavors and a location that makes it easy to return again and again.

What customers say?

“ Just how Malaysian food should be. All about great food. Small, neat and tidy restaurant that serves big authentic flavoured food. Menu items are reasonably priced, price is efficient and food it excellent. This is a place to put on your list. You will need to look for it, small side entrance in a 40 seater, with a window to the kitchen. Food service is fast, food great. Will be back #breakfreefromthedesk MrB ”

“ I had the Singapore noodles which was absolutely delicious. All the flavours were perfect. Great value for money, amazing food and lovely service. Highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely go back! ”

“ I came to this restaurant a couple of times. The food is authentic, even though I am not a Malaysian. Curry chicken was well seasoned and vey tender. I would definitely come here again. However, if you are looking for something fancy or good service, you won’t be able to find it here. This restaurant is not well ventilated and quite small as well. It is a 5/5 food wise. Tea was great! ”

“ Omg delicious laksa. I wish I took a photo, but I demolished it too quickly. Super quick service, my food came out a couple minutes after I ordered! And the taste definitely did not disappoint. I'm going to have to come back tomorrow! I'm pescatarian and they were able to effortlessly customise my curry laksa. Thank you Mamak Corner! Due to reviews about the roti, I had to order the Roti Sweetheart (Pandan and kaya) and it is soooo delicious - warm and sweet filling and the light crisp of the roti makes it perfect for this slightly cooler weather. SO GOOD, MUST ORDER ”

“ Ordered the Nasi Lemak with Fried Chicken and Iced Teh Tarik. The overall taste was great but imo the fried chicken portion is too small as it was cut in pieces (my expectation was a chopped chicken instead of a chicken fillet).. The Iced Teh Tarik was great and tasted very similar with the one from Malay. My overall experience was okay here ”

“ You know it’s hard to get good Malaysian food in Australia if you have been here for quite some time. And having hometown food cravings satisfied is pure bliss. I consider myself to be a picky eater and they delivered. Well done! Sampled the nasi lemak fried chicken, roti canai telur bawang, and maggi goreng. ”
